Men Should Act Like Men.
Today’s comic… I am sure you all remember those commercials. When I first saw one, my first thought was what better scenario than a poker game? I am sure you all know someone who deserved something like that. Or worse. ![]()
Let me quickly touch on this whole Internet gaming ban crap that our elected officials find so important that it has just passed the House. These morons, starting with this clown & jackass sure do a lot when it comes to stifling more of our rights. But when it comes to the important stuff like say, oh I dunno, health care, education, poverty, etc, they can’t seem to get anything done.
They sure do find the time to vote themselves a pay increase almost every year while the minimum wage has stayed the same for 10 years. Cost of living goes up for everyone, yet congress must think it only happens to them. The minimum wage was worth more in 1968 than it is today. The middle class every year fall closer and closer to the poverty level. It’s pathetic!
In 2004 congress was in session just 133 days, with the House only 111 days. This is average for them and this year they are on pace for the lowest session time since records began. 48 days at work for our senators as of May 6th 2006. How many vacation days do you get a year? So many unsolved issues and they find the time to start a ban on Internet gaming. A big EFH YOU goes out to each and every one of those idiots who voted for this to pass.
Every last one of you reading this needs to head over to the Poker Players Alliance right now and become a member. There you will also find links to emailing or calling your local senators. It is the least you can do for the game you love. You get one helluva nice t-shirt out of it too.
I do have some good news to report. Our own DJ Coffman was 1 of 50 selected out of thousands to pitch a comic book idea to Platinum Studios and NBC. He will be flying out to California next week to give it his best shot. Everyone wish him the best of luck. You can read all about it here.
That’s it from me for now. Make sure to check out Charlie’s myspace and add him as a friend.
