Vote for Coffman!

Friday, July 21st, 2006

Normally we would leave the comic strip up until the next update but this is too important and needed a post of it’s own.

Most of you know by now that DJ entered the “Comic Book Challenge” and was one of thousands picked to pitch his idea to Platinum Studios and NBC. Yesterday he and 50 other semi-finalists did just that. There was a live presentation with some of the biggest names in the industry. He was the third to speak and did one helluva job.

To make a long story short DJ is IN! He was selected along with 2 others and the winner will be chosen by us, the Internet. To easily put this into perspective, this is his final table at the WSOP. So please take a minute and head over to the site and VOTE for him. You can also view the complete presentation via his website. Choose the one you think is best of course.

Even though I am completely biased.. The work speaks for itself.

Now for those that may have missed yesterday’s announcement. Starting July 31st, LaB will come at you 3 days a week! For more complete details visit here.

DJ Coffman is a champion!

Monday, July 24th, 2006

I know I am a little late on this news post but ended up sleeping in after being up most of the night talking to DJ. In case you haven’t heard by now, our own DJ Coffman is a champion. That’s right! He is the winner of the comic book challenge!! A big THANK YOU goes out to all our readers who voted. You guys have no idea how much this means to him. It is as if he just won the WSOP.

Needless to say we are all very proud of him. You can head over to Yirmumah to read his reaction.

DJ has worked his tail off for the better part of 10 years to get to this placer. It is not very often you get to witness someone reach a point in life where a major dream has been reached. For myself it acts as a huge motivator. Hard work does indeed pay off. You just have to be willing to put it all on the line. I want to publicly thank him for reminding me of that. Today DJ, you are my Hero!

There is a good chance a child you know will be dressing up as Jack King for Halloween in the not so distant future. ;)
