It was a pleasure…

Mr. Laak's Neighborhood - Life's A Bluff #124

It sucks but it’s true. Phil Laak will no longer be part of Life’s A Bluff and the never spun-off Laak and Loaded strip ends here. We are not quite sure what the plans are for certain characters but you never know what the future holds. Although, I am sure we will still have cameo appearances.

The first panel in the comic today was written by me, the remaining 3 are Laak’s own words.

Phil genuinely felt bad about possibly letting some fans down but you know, Life’s a Bluff fans if anything are forgiving. ;) However, he definitely had the fans in mind and I think it’s in the best interest of everyone. It was expressed to me that he didn’t want to continue when he couldn’t give LaB his all. Doing things half assed or giving anything less than 100 percent is not his style. I can appreciate that.

So as it does any other time… Life goes on. It was an honor and a pleasure to have Phil play a role in the history of Life’s a Bluff. I learned a lot from him over the last few months and I am grateful for that. We are still friends and there is no hard feelings whatsoever. In fact we talked about possibly doing something in the future and/or maybe bringing back L&L at some point. Who knows? What’s known is nothing will change around here. We will still be updating 3 days a week and every Sunday over on Poker Road.

There will be NO STRIP this Friday. Instead I will finally post our live random questions interview with Tom Schneider. Make sure you tune in and see what he had to say about ole Hevad Khan and some of the other colorful poker personalities. Find out who’s antics are as creative as a 6th grader and more! It really is good stuff and a can’t miss.

the Famous Jack Three!

Awesome.

I collect decks of poker cards and I don’t have that one! If anyone has that exact deck of cards with the J3 on front and sends it to me unopened.. I will send them back a brand new deck of Copag cards and one of our upcoming mini-posters. In fact, if anyone has any other unique decks of cards and is willing to part with them…. send me an email over @ Life's A Bluff - Email!!! They don’t always have to be unopened but preferred. Thanks!

If you don’t have one, check out the store for the webcomic The Devils Panties. She has a set of playing cards that use hand drawn images. I use two decks for my monthly game at my house. ;)
