The inspiration for today’s comic came from a similar calendar DJ Coffman (original LaB artist) did for Yirmumah back in Feb of 2005. DJ and I talked about doing a poker version but other projects came up and the idea was pushed to the side. Thanks to DJ for allowing me to steal and recreate his idea. The fact that it happened to be February was just a coincidence.

I hope everyone gets a kick out of it. Print it out and post it on your cubicles!

“The Poker Media & Online Community”

I am aggravated again.

The online poker community has become a side show. Maybe it always was and I am just naive. I realize certain sites are there to help spread the gossip but when you have the word NEWS in your url or site title, I would expect a higher level of journalistic integrity. I found out about this stupid Coke boycott via one of the “news” sites. Why is the idea of a Coke boycott get more attention than any call for an Absolute or UB boycott?

There are a handful of people who tell it like it is, the rest of the so called “poker media” are degenerate “poker players” with pencils…. Nothing more. They can’t play poker so they write about it. To call themselves reporters or news sites is a slap in the face to the real journalists.

The same morons who are calling for a Coke boycott, are some of the same people who said “shhh… raise a stink about Absolute and they will say, SEE! that is why online poker should be banned” The people forwarding the idea of a Coke boycott should be ashamed of themselves.

I need to re-think my place in this so called community.

Poker Players Alliance

Almost 2 weeks after my initial interview request and still nothing from the PPA. I guess they don’t take the concerns of a large vocal portion of their membership seriously. I still hold out hope and will try again on Friday.
