The Aftermath
I am just getting up after a long nap and starting to sift through the madness. I have received quite a few emails from you. Most are in full support and thank me for raising these issues. There are a few that make some good points that maybe I didn’t really consider.
Look…. I am not a journalist nor a reporter. I certainly don’t pretend to be like most of those covering poker. What it comes down to is I am simply some regular shmo running a comic site with an occasional rant about current affairs. I don’t even call myself a blogger. (not in the true sense) I answer to one person and that is myself. If at the end of the day I can look in the mirror and smile… I do. If it means along the way pissing a few people off. So be it. That’s life. Just as long as I don’t aim to specifically hurt other people in the process.
I did not consider this an attack on Pappas. I respect the man and I appreciate what he (is trying) to do for poker. I apologize to him if he felt blind-sided or was left leaving his mouth open and to anyone else who might have thought I was out of line. It was never my intention. My comments are my comments and maybe they should have been left for after the interview. However nothing would have changed how I feel or what I said…. only the placement of my remarks. What difference does it make if it is within the article, after it, or in a new post all together? LaB readers are very smart. They can distinquish the spin.
To those who suggest I should just keep my mouth shut and stick to comics… I refuse. Not everyone has the chance to speak to a group of people regardless of how small or large that group may be. Some people will go through their whole lives with no more than a handful of people hearing them. I am going to take full advantage of this soap box (while there still is one) whenever possible. And I am not going to say, if you don’t like it… don’t read it…. because I prefer disagreement. Healthy debate never hurt anyone or any issue. I appreciate and cherish ALL vistors… not just those who agree.
If I had a chance to do it differently, would I? Yeah… I would have never joined the PPA.

I have to say that, regardless of your position on the PPA, you have to feel that getting a public policy group to change its mission statement…correct its course and admit a small wrongdoing…is worth the effort here.
Cheers.
