Well… the moment many people were dreading has arrived. The 60 minutes expose on the Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker cheating scandals.

Many thought this would be a hatchet job and a very bad thing for online poker. While some facts presented are incorrect, overall I think it was an ok report. Russ Hamilton is mentioned and comes off looking like the fat greedy bastard he is. Todd Witteles was presented as if he was the guy who discovered the cheating. Why did they choose this clown to represent the players? Just goes to show how out of touch main stream media really is. I would have much rather seen someone like Jennifer Newell interviewed. She has been all over this story since it first broke and probably knows more about it than anyone. Todd helps the reporter give the impression that this kind of cheating is rampant. Although I am not sure I disagree.

So…. now that the story has been presented… what do you think? Was enough said? How will the average viewer perceive it?

I don’t think UB or AP came off looking as bad as they should have. This was more about upper management than they made it seem. 60 minutes dropped the ball here as far as I am concerned. This should have been an entire hour.
