April Fools CPT
LAS VEGAS, NV–(Marketwire – March 26, 2009) – In less than a week, professional poker player Howard Lederer, along with wife and local socialite Suzie Lederer, will host their first annual April Fools Charity Poker Tournament (CPT) at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Poker Lounge on Wednesday, April 1st.
A $10,000 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event Seat, sponsored in part by Whole Foods Markets, a Curtis & Co. watch, and a Legacy Alliance custom designed crystal trophy will be awarded to the winner of the charity poker tournament. The top ten finishers will also win valuable prizes. Several guests and participants will fall prey to amusing April Fools themed pranks, bounties, and giveaways.
Confirmed FullTilt pros, celebrity poker players, and special guests include Jerry Yang, Jamie Gold, Steve Zolotow, Jennifer Harman, Marco Traniello, Scotty Nguyen, Jeff Madsen, Lacey Jones, Esther Rossi, Kenna James, Karina and Chip Jett, Perry Friedman, Lee Watkinson, David Grey, and ESPN commentator Lon McEachern. Also participating are NBC Sports’ Randy Howe and ABC Sports’ Bryan Salmond. Cooperating media include Card Player TV, Poker TV Asia, and Las Vegas Vegas.
Registration opens at noon. Tournament Directors Association (TDA) founder and celebrity emcee Matt Savage will start the charity poker tournament at 3 PM. The buy-in is $200 + $30 and all proceeds will benefit the Las Vegas Springs Preserve.
The April Fools CPT and Fundraiser will feature Patron girls, specialty cocktails courtesy of Patron Tequila and Sence Rose Nectar. Guests will enjoy hot and cold nibbles, beverages, and a silent auction hosted by Triumph Sports. All April Fools participants will receive generous gift bags in exchange for their donation to further the cause of ecological awareness.
