If anyone saw the Apprentice last night, they witnessed one of the most disgusting poor loser displays, EVER on TV.
Melissa Rivers (plastic clone of her mother) was fired last night and lost her mind. Losing a fake job on a game show was way too much for her to handle. Out of breath and on the verge of tears, she hobbled and screamed her way out the door. She should be embarrassed. And awwww.. No last interview either??
What followed was a completely unnecessary character attack on poker players in general. Joan “old lady racist” Rivers says Annie Duke and all poker players “are beyond white trash” and suggested that we are all criminal deadbeats. None of us “have last names.”
First of all, Annie is quite correct when she says “poker player are the most awesome people in the world”. And it isn’t in this clip but she also mentioned honor and trust in their word. Those of us who participate in this little world know how far off the mark Rivers was/is in her comments. Pro poker players are notoriously generous when it comes to various charity donations of both money and personal time. I would bet this website that Annie does more for charity in a year than Joan or Melissa have in the last 10. Not to mention individual reach and difference made. There are hundreds if not thousands of kids in Africa ALIVE today thanks to Annie’s efforts.
It is amazing that a woman who has made a life off of talking behind peoples and spreading gossip could suggest anyone was trash. It wasn’t enough to refer to Annie as a Nazi or suggest Hitler was somehow a better person, she had to lump an entire community of good people. And how about that blood money comment? Really? More blood on poker money than Joan’s surgery money?
I hope those watching walked away with the same impression that I did. Joan Rivers is a tired, past her time, cry baby, racist, bitter old lady. Now for those of you who don’t know what I mean by racist…. The teams each had to come up with a Right Guard ad for Sports Illustrated. A white New York Knick basketball player was the celebrity endorser. Joan’s idea was to put this kid in the middle of a group of towering black guys. Because, “whats more intimidating than being surrounded by big black men”. Clint and Jesse were speechless. Joan was completely oblivious to what she said. A statement like that is so second nature to her, it never occurred to her that it might have racial under….. HELL, OVERtones.
If this was all about character assassination. Joan did herself no favors. She walked off a job that had charity as it’s primary focus. If it “isn’t about the money”, what was it about for her? I guess her charity doesn’t mean much to her since she is so willing to quit. Although I seriously doubt Trump is going to let her out of her CONTRACT and lose out on must see TV. I have no doubt she will be there next Sunday and will have some face saving excuse. It is going to be great when it comes down to Joan & Annie.
GO PIT VIPER!
Whether you like Annie or not, you have to give her credit for portraying poker players in a good light. I can’t help but think the majority of apprentice viewers hold a lot of the same stereotypical views. Hopefully Annie is helping shed some.
Poker players ARE awesome. I am very honored and proud to call them friends and family.
